Oyster Weekend is designed as a complete weekend experience rather than a series of individual events. Your stay includes two nights at The Boarding House, the Friday welcome gathering, exclusive access to the Rutgers Aquaculture Innovation Center, a guided Sweet Amalia Farms experience, oyster education and shucking demonstrations, a chef-driven dinner featuring local ingredients, curated Cape May recommendations, and a special weekend keepsake.

Additional food, drinks, shopping, and activities enjoyed during your free time in Cape May are not included unless otherwise noted.

To preserve the intimacy of the experience, Oyster Weekend is intentionally limited to a small number of guests.

Complimentary off-street parking is available at The Boarding House for one vehicle per room. Once you're settled in, Cape May is wonderfully walkable, so you can leave the car behind for much of the weekend.

Because Oyster Weekend includes visits to farms, food experiences, and other off-site locations, dogs cannot accompany guests to scheduled Oyster Weekend programming. Please plan accordingly for your pup while you're out exploring with us.

Oyster Weekend is a coastal experience, and November weather is part of the adventure. Programming will take place rain or shine whenever possible, with adjustments made if weather conditions require them.

Some experiences take place outdoors and on working farms, so come prepared for changing temperatures, wind, and the occasional muddy shoe. We'll communicate any significant schedule changes directly to guests.

Oyster Weekend includes a mix of experiences at The Boarding House and off-site locations, including working farms and aquaculture facilities. Accessibility may vary by location.

Please note that The Boarding House does not have an elevator. If you have mobility or accessibility needs, contact us before booking so we can discuss the weekend's itinerary and accommodations and help determine whether the experience will work for you.

The Boarding House will be your home base for the weekend. Cape May's shops, restaurants, and attractions are easily explored on foot, and The Boarding House also offers bikes for cruising around town.

Transportation details for scheduled off-site Oyster Weekend experiences will be shared with registered guests prior to the weekend.

Oyster Weekend is centered around oysters, seafood, and locally sourced food, with several meals and tastings prepared specifically for the experience. Because of the nature of the programming and participating locations, we cannot accommodate any allergies or dietary restrictions.

Think Cape May in November: casual, comfortable, and ready to explore. Layers are your friend. We recommend comfortable walking shoes or boots, a warm jacket, and clothing you won't mind wearing around a working farm (you might get dirty!).

Saturday's itinerary will take you from aquaculture and farm experiences back to The Boarding House for dinner, so you'll have time to freshen up before the evening.

Oyster Weekend is designed for oyster lovers, food enthusiasts, coastal explorers, and anyone curious about the people and places behind South Jersey's oyster culture. You don't need to be an oyster expert—just come hungry and curious.

Because the weekend includes alcohol, working farms, and specialized programming, Oyster Weekend is intended for guests 21 and over.

Check-in at The Boarding House begins at 2 PM on Friday, and check-out is by 1 PM on Sunday.
